Consulting

Prime Root is a consulting firm that helps science and health organizations improve communication practices and strategies.

We lead projects that aim to:

  • Create better content
  • Reach new audiences and people
  • Increase the impact of scientific expertise
  • Build new connections between stakeholders and sectors

We also develop guides for professional communicators working in the sciences. These resources can be tailored for individual clients.

Expertise

Prime Root specializes in science communication. This involves combining a broad knowledge of scientific disciplines with experience developing and managing communication, design, marketing, and public relations activities.

Prime Root consists of principal consultant Robert Beets and other contributors. We have experience using compelling words, images, and stories to communicate complex scientific concepts.

We apply this expertise to help science and health organizations advance their practices, strategies, and capacities to create good content.

Collaboration

We are different than most communication firms. Instead of delivering a specific product, we partner with organizations to solve problems.

With clients, we first examine core goals and organizational needs. We discuss the benefits of potential communication activities and take into consideration any relevant constraints and unique cultures.

Together, we develop project plans to improve communication efforts and enable teams to efficiently and consistently create content that makes the right impact.

Projects may involve:

  • Content strategy
  • Communication plans
  • Audience and stakeholder analysis
  • Marketing campaigns and collateral
  • Website design and development
  • User experience testing
  • Strategic planning
